Privacy

We collect as little as the product needs, and we never track where you are.

Your location

If you choose "Use my location", your device provides a single foreground position that is used only to centre the globe and run a Regional Scout query. The coordinates are sent to the application service as part of that query and are not stored, logged with your identity, or used for background tracking. The browser or operating system permission can be revoked at any time; the application never requests background location.

Accounts

Accounts are optional. When enabled, sign-in is handled by an established identity provider; we store the subject identifier, display name, time zone, roles and the regions, animals and preferences you save. We do not store passwords. Follows and notification preferences are used only to show you new released reports for the things you follow.

Usage data

Request logs contain a request identifier, route, timing and error class for operational monitoring and are retained briefly. Shared-view links contain only the view parameters you chose to share. No third-party advertising or behavioural analytics are embedded.

Animal data

Positions of tagged animals are observations released by research projects under their own terms. We apply each project's publication policy (delay, generalisation or suppression) before display. Records withdrawn by a source are removed from display and corrections are recorded publicly.
